Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority

Working with your agent

All registered migration agents must follow the Code of Conduct prepared by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority. Under the Code, agents have to act professionally, in your interests and within the law. They are expected to deal with you by being competent, diligent and fair.

An agent should provide you with accurate advice about your options. They will do so based on the information you provide them and their knowledge and experience.

Once you agree to use an agent, you can expect a written agreement with details of the services (contract) and how much they will charge (fees).

The agent might also charge you for your first meeting or telephone call (initial consultation) before giving you a contract to review and sign.
