What we require of you
As a registered migration agent you must read and understand how to perform your duties in compliance with the:
The Migration Act contains a number of criminal offences for providing false or misleading information, which also apply to registered migration agents in the provision of their services.
Code of Conduct
You must also perform your duties in line with the
Code of Conduct, this includes to:
- act honestly
- act in the legitimate interests of your client
- deal with your client in a competent, diligent and fair manner
- maintain strict standards of confidentiality
- understand what to do if you have a conflict of interest
- recognise that your client depends on your expertise
- not make, or encourage, statements that might mislead or deceive
- not intimidate or coerce your client
