Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority

If you are registered with the New Zealand Immigration Advisers Authority

Immigration advisers registered with the  New Zealand Immigration Advisers Authority (NZIAA) can apply for registration as a migration agent in Australia under the process set out in the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 (TTMRA).

The TTMRA recognises the regulatory standards adopted in New Zealand for equivalent-registered occupations and provides for a streamlined registration process.

Please note, holders of a limited or provisional licence issued by the NZIAA, who obtain registration in Australia under the TTMRA, will be subject to conditions equivalent to those limiting their licence in New Zealand. For example, an adviser who holds a limited licence in New Zealand restricting their practice to student and visitor visas will only be able to work in those fields in Australia. Similarly, an adviser who holds a provisional licence in New Zealand restricting them to practicing only under supervision will have a similar condition imposed on their registration in Australia.

When applying for registration under the TTRMA you will need to complete a statutory declaration, scan it and upload it to your online application at the ‘Supporting documents’ step.
